Annual participation in the Shell Eco-Marathon
The final objective during each year is to compete in the Shell Eco-marathon. We aim to improve the placement in the competition through further development and refinement.
Gaining competence in a competitive environment and in team work
Theoretical knowledge acquired during university is most often not applied in practical situations. While working on this project students have the chance to become involved in situations in which they can gain new a new comprehension of the subject as well as a chance to apply their theoretical knowledge. This hopefully improves the motivation for their studies, In addition they benefit by acquiring better organizational skills. The different point of views, necessary discussions and the necessity to reach a mutual consent will furthermore improve their social competence.
Publicity for the Chemnitz University of Technology and for Saxony
Our university, the Chemnitz University of Technology, profits from its reputation to be a modern and innovative institution. In our cooperation with companies we aim to present our institution as an attractive research partner. Fortis Saxonia, "strong Saxony", shows how young students are able to turn ideas into reality, their motivation for interregional interaction, their high motivation and passion for the project. Our sponsors gain promotion beyond the borders of Saxony and even Germany. This improves the perception of Saxony for future generations.

We believe that some of our passion for this project as well as for engineering and science in general becomes visible for potential students at our university.
Promotion of environmental awareness
As students who have most of their adult life still ahead of us we want to contribute to the future. That is the reason why we are researching new technologies and their applications. Today more than ever, the necessity for personal transportation has to be balanced with environmental awareness.
