Welcome to Fortis Saxonia
Fortis Saxonia (Latin for "Powerful Saxony") ist a student research project within the Chemnitz University of Technology. The interdisciplinary project team consists of about 20 students from diverse faculties. Fortis Saxonia developes and builds lightweight and energy-saving vehicles. The drive is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell und an electro motor.
Students from other institutions are also involved and very dedicated, especially students from the University for applied sciences Merseburg and the University for art and design Burg Giebichenstein. The project is financed from sponsoring and donations.

The Shell Eco-Marathon 2009 is just around the corner. With our this year motto hydrogen booms we want to demonstrate that hydrogen could be used as extremly powerfull energysource and must not be dangerous.
Feel free to look at our homepage, you will get the newest information about our team all the days. The next option is to use the video stream of all racing events offered by the University of applied sience Offenburg.
At 24th of April our new car drived its first rounds in new robes. Outwardly it is nearly the same like in the last year, but we optmized the powertrain in many points. And so on we are well prepared for the new event.
From January, 19th to 21st Fortis Saxonia presented the Sax 2 at the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi. This fair showed new beginnings and solutions for future energy generation. With us the future starts today, because we can show with our car what is possible with the today's technology.
